This policy explains, in plain language, what WeldGrade collects and how we use it. WeldGrade is an educational and training support tool. It is not a certified inspection authority.
Information we collect
- Account information such as name, email, role, class membership, and organization or program affiliation.
- Weld photos, uploaded files, student submissions, AI-assisted feedback, instructor reviews, scores and statuses, notes, timestamps, and portfolio records.
- Technical and log data used for security, debugging, analytics, and reliability.
How we use information
- To provide the WeldGrade service — including uploads, reviews, gradebook, portfolio, and communication with instructors.
- To support instructor review, class administration, and program-level reporting.
- To keep WeldGrade secure, reliable, and up to date.
Third-party infrastructure and AI providers
WeldGrade uses third-party infrastructure and AI providers to deliver the service. Uploaded weld images and submission details may be sent to third-party AI providers to generate the specific review requested by the user. See AI Disclosure.
What we do not do
- WeldGrade does not sell personal information.
- WeldGrade does not use student or pilot data for targeted advertising.
- WeldGrade does not use identifiable student submissions, weld photos, class data, or instructor reviews to train AI models unless separately and explicitly opted in. See AI Training Consent.
Access, correction, export, and deletion
Users and institutions may request access, correction, export, or deletion of applicable records by contacting info@weldgrade.com. Some records may need to be retained for educational, security, or legal reasons.
Data retention
Data may be retained as needed for educational records, security, legal compliance, and product operations.
Age
WeldGrade is not intended for children under 13. Users under 18 should use WeldGrade only through a school, instructor, parent/guardian-approved program, or other authorized educational setting.
