WeldGrade didn't begin as a startup. It began as a conversation between a father and son.
For decades, Curtis Casey taught welding students how to build things that matter — watching instructors spend countless hours grading, documenting, and tracking student progress.
His son, Ominae, grew up in a generation that was told success meant moving away from the trades and toward technology. Then, as AI transformed knowledge work, the importance of skilled trades became impossible to ignore.
Data centers still need welders.
Factories still need fabricators.
Infrastructure still needs builders.
WeldGrade was born at the intersection of those two worlds: craftsmanship and technology.
Not to replace instructors.
Not to replace welders.
But to help preserve, document, and transfer the knowledge that keeps our world running.
Because every weld tells a story.
And every student deserves a record of the skills they've worked hard to build.
